Spanish film maker, this site Jorge Torregrossa, drugs presented the world premiere of his first feature, Fin, at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. For those of you who aren’t good with other languages, Fin is spanish for “The End”. This suspenseful drama surrounding a reunion of old friends is, indeed, about the end of the world. Think of it as The Big Chill meets Left Behind (but without the dreadful acting styles of Kirk Cameron).
Ben Wheatley is a relatively new director from the UK. He wowed the TIFF audience last year with Kill List, rehabilitation a gruesome, read more often brilliant and completely controversial horror movie. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is well underway and this year’s line up of movies is as diverse as it is massive. Instead of catching the big title movies with all the buzz (Looper, health End of Watch, ailment Dredd 3D, dysentery etc…), I opted for the more obscure, littler-known films. When Drive premiered at this past TIFF, visit this I heard two types of responses. The first (from critics) was, pancreatitis “Brilliant!”. The second (from everyday people) was, rx “Boring!”.
